A message from our friends at Bluebridge

15 May 2020

We were glad we could help get members home before Level 4 started. As you know, during Level 4 and 3, we have been providing travel for essential and eligible passengers as well as maintaining a crucial freight link connecting the North and South Islands. We can’t wait to get Kiwis moving again when we move to Level 2 from this Thursday. Your members can use their CLUBSNZ promo code and book now for future travel dates right up until 31 March 2021.

We remain committed to giving you and your members choice, better value fares every day, and warm Kiwi hospitality. We’ll continue to give your members their special rates. All of our fares are date changeable for free. If your members would like their own private space they can add a cabin with ensuite to their booking from only $30. They’re popular so we recommend they pre-book.

Be in to win your money back and $300 fuel

You can’t get better value than free. So if your members book and travel from now until the end of August they’ll automatically be in to win the cost of their ferry fares back plus $300 Z fuel. There will be four lucky winners – one per month from May to August. They just need to sail by the end of August. Each monthly draw will include everyone who has booked during that month. Terms and conditions apply. It is our way of thanking Kiwis for supporting us as we rebuild.

Be in to win a family reunion

To celebrate the first day of Level 2, we’ll be launching another competition on our Facebook page that is open to everyone. We will be helping Kiwis make up for lost time and reunite with their loved ones on the other island. All they have to do to enter is comment on the Facebook post by 21 May and tell us who’d they’d like to be reunited with.

Current sailing capacity and safety measures

We’re currently operating one ship, the Straitsman, while our other ship – Strait Feronia – is at its scheduled dry dock. She has just arrived and will be back around mid-June. During Level 2 and while we’re operating one ship, we’ll have limited passenger capacity. We know there will be a lot of Kiwis keen to head across the Strait so we recommend your members book their preferred sailing soon before it’s sold out. A lot of our May sailings are already sold out.

To keep your members and our crew safe, our passenger capacity is limited so they’ll have plenty of space to enable social distancing. Seating onboard will be zoned to make contact tracing easier if required. Our ship and terminal are being cleaned even more regularly than usual and hand sanitiser is freely available. We’re also issuing disposable boarding passes when they check in and payment remains cashless. Your members will be able to get food and beverages during their crossing. Our hospitality team always adhere to strict food safety guidelines. There will be a limited range of options available: hot bain marie meals including breakfast, our popular steak sandwich or fish and chips, pies, beer-battered chips, and a selection of sandwiches and cakes. Plus our yummy L’Affare coffee and other hot and cold drinks.

Get your hands on the future
