Waikanae Chartered Club - Secretary/Manager

The Waikanae Chartered Club Inc is seeking to appoint a Secretary/Manager who can show strong leadership and management skills.

The successful applicant will need the following knowledge and experience:

  • Demonstrate the ability to understand regulatory compliance in Health & Safety, Liquor Licencing, Gaming & the Racing Act as a minimum.
  • Demonstrate ability to understand business finance and budget.
  • Excellent standard of written and oral communication
  • Computer literate and ability to carry out stock management assessments on a regular schedule.
  • Demonstrate experience in all aspects of bar operation including the Liquor Licensing Act 2012
  • Understand gaming machine requirements and procedures & regulatory compliance.
  • Be approved by the Department of Internal Affairs to operate gaming machines.
  • Have the ability to carry out carry out promotions, marketing and sponsorship activities required to achieve the objectives of the Club.
  • Have the ability to obtain promote and market the club as a community facility.
  • Be the holder of a General Managers Certificate in accordance with the Sale of Liquor Act 2012
  • Demonstrate customer focus.
  • Effectively lead a team of dedicated staff and have the ability to have regular meetings and annual reviews.
  • Be able to write meaningful Board reports and show effective communication with the Board.
