Last week the Clubs New Zealand 2020 Annual General Meeting was held digitally via Zoom. This was a first for Clubs New Zealand and we would like to thank all the delegates that attended, participated and provided feedback.
Updating you Privacy Policy and Application form in anticipation of the new Privacy Act 2020

In anticipation of the new Privacy Act coming into force in December this year, Clubs New Zealand has reviewed the template privacy policy and template membership application form for clubs.
Both these updated templates can be found in the resources section of the website under Members Area > Resources > Membership.
Clubs New Zealand 2020 Annual General Meeting

The Clubs New Zealand 2020 Annual General Meeting will be taking place tomorrow morning, Friday, 11 September at 9.30am, via Zoom.

Invercargill Workingmen's Club Spud Dig Day

Many years ago, a group of members of the Invercargill Workingmen’s Club (also known as IWMC) wanted to do something for Hospice, an organization that many of our community have family frequent. Their idea was novel; a spud competition, but not just any spud was to be grown.
Club Staff Supporting Members

Upper Hutt Cossie Club staff recently donated $20 each to provide 100 free meals for the Club’s elderly members. From the Club’s over 70 years membership database 50 members were drawn randomly and were delivered two meals each in late July.
The generous gesture by the staff was in appreciation of the Club’s support of staff throughout the Covid lockdown with all staff receiving 100% of their wages and none being made redundant. Previously staff had donated goods to the local Foodbank.
Contact Tracing under Alert Level 2

It is now mandatory for businesses including clubs to display the NZ COVID Tracer App QR Code for contact tracing purposes. The rules for contact tracing have changed slightly since May and there has been a little confusion around the requirements.
The current COVID-19 Public Health Response (Alert Levels 3 and 2) Order 2020 requires businesses to:

Sporting activities need to be completely separate from your food and beverage operation, this means members cannot have a drink or a meal while engaging in the sporting activity. If they decide they want a drink or meal they must completely cease the sporting activity and go be seated, separated and served as per the hospitality rules.
Businesses must now display the NZ COVID Tracer QR Code

Under Alert Levels 2 and 3, all businesses and services are required to display the official NZ COVID Tracer QR code posters in a prominent place at or near the main entrances to each of their premises (this is in addition to your requirement as a hospitality business to maintain a register for contact tracing purposes).

In two weeks the Clubs New Zealand 2020 Annual General Meeting hosted by Clubs Hastings will be finally getting underway.
Registrations will open from 9.30am on Friday 21st August. As always the National Office team will be on hand to get you registered and answer your questions. We invite delegates to come and enjoy the club during the morning prior to lunch at 12.00pm

The results from the Wage and Salary Survey allow us to create the annual Wage and Salary Guide which is an incredibly sought after resource.

The Clubs New Zealand 2020 Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday 22nd August 2020 at Club Hastings. The AGM was originally due to be held on 22nd March 2020, however, this was postponed due to New Zealand moving into Alert Level 2 on 21 March and subsequently Alert Level 4 on 25 March 2020. The Clubs New Zealand Board agreed to retrospectively modify the constitution in order to hold the AGM at this later date as allowed for under The COVID-19 Response (Further Management Measures) Legislation Act.
