The Advertising Standards Authority is pleased to offer a range of options for briefings on the new Alcohol Advertising and Promotion Code. The Code was released on 16 December 2020 and comes into effect for new ads on 1 April 2021. All ads will need to comply with the new Code by 1 July 2021.
Clubs New Zealand no longer able to accept payment by cheque

The demise of cheques has long been foreshadowed, last year ACC and Inland Revenue announced they would no longer be accepting cheques and now in 2021 many banks are moving to phase cheques out entirely.
Clubs New Zealand's bank is one of those to announce that the use of cheques as a payment method will be discontinued this year. As a result of this Clubs New Zealand will no longer be able to accept cheques as a form of payment from clubs.
Government Expands Small Loan Scheme

The government has announced an expansion of the small business loan scheme (SBLS), a COVID-19 related support measure where the government lends directly to businesses.

This week COVID-19 has edged its way back into the spotlight after a case was recorded in the community in Northland and two further cases have been identified in Auckland.
The latest updates suggest that these cases are linked to the border and that the virus was contracted from within managed isolation facilities. These cases are a stark reminder that we are operating during a global pandemic and that the situation can change within a matter of days.

By now most of you will have been asked “so, what are your New Year’s resolutions?” Typically, they involve “exercising more”, “taking more time for yourself”, or “spending more time with family”. Besides these personal resolutions, the beginning on the year is a great chance to think about the New Year’s resolutions for your club. A resolution after all, is a decision to do something differently to bring about positive change.
Clubs New Zealand 2021 Conference, AGM + EXPO - Activities and Partners Trips

The Clubs New Zealand 2021 Conference, AGM and EXPO is going to be packed with activities that will allow delegates and partners to experience Christchurch and its great clubs.
Friday 19th March will feature a club bus tour and race night that delegates and partners can add onto their conference experience. On Sunday 21st March, partners can leave the business end of the Conference & AGM to the delegates and tour Christchurch on the 2021 Partners Trip.

Clubs New Zealand Family Race Day – Assigning Naming Rights

We are excited to be starting the 2021 calendar of events with the Clubs New Zealand Family Race Day on Saturday 23rd January at Trentham Racing Course.
This family race day is perfect to pitch up a tent in the sunshine, enjoy a picnic on the lawn and have a flutter on the racing while the kids can run wild on a huge range off FREE activities.
Clubs New Zealand Nominations for Office 2021-23 are Open

Nomination for the Clubs New Zealand 2021-23 Board Positions are open. All current officers are eligible for re-election but must be nominated in accordance with the rules.
The Clubs New Zealand constitution requires that we appoint/confirm the following officers:
Annual Membership Update Forms will be sent out on Friday 4th December
3 December 2020
On Friday 4th of December all clubs will receive an email with a link for you to complete your annual membership update. The annual update forms are online and come pre-populated based on the information we currently hold for your club.
You will need to declare the clubs total number of financial members for the year ended 31 December 2020. The total number of members is the sum of financial members across all membership categories.
Privacy Changes

As you will be aware the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 came into effect on Tuesday 1 December 2020.
Here at Clubs New Zealand we take your privacy seriously, we have updated our privacy statement and will continue to regularly review the functionality to our website and mobile app to better manage privacy. We have appointed Lucy Waterreus and Leigh Williams as our privacy officers, should you need anything further.
