This year the Christmas and New Year public holidays fall on Saturday 25 December, Sunday 26 December, Saturday 1 January and Sunday 2 January meaning that Mondayisation and even Tuesdayisation are going to be in play.

New Zealand EMS Sector Website Launch

We agree with the Commission’s decision of March 2021 to enable corporate societies to correct the number of permitted machines listed on venue licences, and we have been exploring ways to implement the approach suggested by the Commission.
Final Report on the Incorporated Societies Bill

The Final report of the Economic Development, Science and Innovation Committee on the Incorporated Societies Bill has been released with the committee recommending that it be passed.
There are a number of amendments as part of the report which are unanimously recommended by the committee.

MEDIA RELEASE: Getting Back to Doing What We Love

The Covid Protection Framework announced on the 22nd of October, will give the club industry the certainty it needs to get back to doing what we love, without the need for snap lockdowns, says Clubs New Zealand.
“Once the framework is in place Clubs New Zealand will encourage all Clubs New Zealand member clubs to use the vaccine certificate requirements so that they can operate at the green and orange levels without restriction”, says Chief Executive Larry Graham.

Sign in registers and the Privacy Act 2020

Many of you will have seen the guidance from the Office of the Privacy Commissioner in regards to alternative contact tracing registers and the need to ensure that they comply with the Privacy Act 2020.
“Using an open sheet or register left in a public-facing position where personal information is visible to others is a leading cause of COVID-19-related privacy breaches. It’s important that businesses provide other methods of collecting and storing contact tracing records, but in ways which also protect the privacy of those whose details are being collected.” Says Privacy Commissioner John Edwards.

However, one sadly predictable effect is the severe financial impact on some businesses caused by extended lockdowns. Whilst government help has been available, it will not be enough for some businesses, and they will be turning to retrenchment and redundancies to survive.
Face covering exemptions

Face coverings can help reduce the spread of COVID-19. They stop droplets spreading when someone speaks, laughs, coughs or sneezes. There are a number of situations and locations where wearing a face covering is mandatory such as on public transport, visiting healthcare or aged care facilities, inside retail businesses or public venues such as museums and libraries.

Exclusion Orders and the Concern Database.
When you load an exclusion through the concern database by clicking Exclusions at the top then Add, this will load the person into the database for your club only. You should also select 310 – Self Registered Problem Gambler and Approved Exclusion from the drop down.
